Elizabeth was the oldest daughter of John M. Dowdy and Martha Williams -- the granddaughter of John Dowdy Jr. and Manerva McDaniel. Her mother died in Tennessee and her dad John M went with his father and family to Kentucky. John M married Sarah Johnson in Kentucky, and they moved to Illinois see 1880 census . Elizabeth married George Sellars in 1880. They had six children Theodore 1881, Leroy 1883, Maude 1885, Eddie 1888, Ada 1893, and Walter 1897. Ada and Walter both died as infants. Apparently Elizabeth died in childbirth as she died in January 1897, and her two month old son died in February.
