Born to Joseph and Ethel (Gothier) Bergman, he spent his early years on a farm near Obert, and then moved to a farm east of Hartington.
He married Irene Dresden on June 26, 1939, at Hartington.
Glenn owned and operated several trucking businesses throughout the years, including tank wagons, gravel, and stock trucks. He worked for several freight firms and cattle businesses in the area plus he tended bar for several years.
He was an avid gardener, always attempting to grow the largest vegetable and flowers in the area. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and stories of the big one that got away. However he did manage to catch the big one once in a while. He also enjoyed playing cards at a moments notice and really hated to lose. He always enjoyed telling a good joke, cooking for parties, and just being a friend to everyone he met.
He was survived by a son, Ron Bergman and wife, Lou Ann; 2 daughters: Joann Hoffart and husband, Larry and Carol Bergman; 9 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 9 step-children; 12 step-grandchildren; 5 sisters: Laura Whitehorn, Lucille Jensen and Loretta Bottolfsen; Dorothy and Rusty Nichols; Madeline Kruse and a brother, Dale and Eleanor Bergman.
