Oluf was born at Ulsteinvik, Norway and came to the U. S. as a young man. In 1918, he joined the U. S. Army at Canton, SD. On August 5, 1922, he married Lottie Ende. They farmed in Lincoln and Union Counties of South Dakota before moving to Minnesota in 1943. Oluf died at a veterans hospital.
Oluf was survived by his widow, four sons, three daughters, ten grandchildren, and some great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons who died as children.
