Eva Evelyn Garrett Johnson - 79 of Ruth Community, Arab died Saturday, May 5, 2012 in H.M.C. Shepherd's Cove.
Mrs. Johnson was born April 13, 1933 in Morgan County, the daughter of Roy and Ola Collins Garrett. She had lived in the Ruth Community of Arab most of her life and was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She retired in 1997 from Marshall Space Flight Center; she was an aide to the executive staff.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: James and Cindy Johnson of Somerville; three daughters and sons-in-law: Jean and Ken McGriff of Hartselle, Ann and Ken Whisenant of Hartselle and Sheila and John Kirkland of Arab; 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 Great, great grandchild; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Marlin and Ann Garrett of Arab and Dennis and June Garrett of Hartselle and a sister and brother-in-law: Glenda and Terry Blackmon of Arab; preceded in death by four brothers: Olan Garrett, Dwain Garrett, Gwen Garrett and Doyle Gene Garrett.
Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Brother Shane Wheeler, officiating. Burial will be in Oleander Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Greg Abercrombie, Shirrell Culbreath, Carson Clark, Jeff Garrett, Lance Garrett and Lavon Garrett.
