"DIED.--Mr. Anthony French, father of Mrs. Homer Sanford, died yesterday afternoon at four o'clock, at the residence of his daughter in this city, in the 77th year of his age. He was born in Concord, Mass., July 19th, 1804. He was married May 27th, 1828, at Harper's Ferry, Va., where he lived three years and then removed to Boston, Mass., where he resided until his removal to this city about ten years ago. Deceased was a sufferer for twenty years with inflammatory rheumatism which kept him confined to the house the greater part of the time. His protracted sufferings were borne with exemplary patience and fortitude. His wife still survives. The funeral will take place to-morrow morning at ten o'clock from the Methodist Church."

"The funeral of Mr. Anthony French took place at the first methodist church at 10:30 o'clock today. The services were conducted by Rev. S. P. Groves."
