Funeral director & embalmer. He founded the Charles T. Holland Funeral Directors in 1924 and in 1932 was joined by Andrew Ryce and Donald Welch. In 1944 he sold to his partners and the firm became Welch-Ryce. It was the oldest funeral establishment in Santa Barbara. He had been a funeral director in the town since 1913. After selling the firm, he became a citrus rancher in the area.
