Mrs. Joseph Albert, who died last Friday, and who was buried yesterday evening in Greenwood Cemetery, was a woman beloved by many in this community.
She had been a resident of this city for the past forty-four years and devoted many years of that time in a cause that will live to perpetuate her memory.
She was the founder of the Ladies' Louisiana Benevolent Association, out of which came the many similar ladies' organizations that followed. At one time she was the president of thirteen of these associations, and only lately stood at the head of five of them.
Her maiden name was Anna Marie Becker, and she was born at Boryalva, Rheinpfalz, Germany.
She married Joseph Albert, and to this union was born five children, two girls and three boys, all being single, with the exception of the eldest daughter. They were Della, Mary, Jacob, Joseph and Eugene.
At the funeral yesterday, which was from the family home at Philip and Claiborne streets, besides the members of the family, the Ladies' Louisiana Benevolent Association, the Ladies' Magnolia, the Ladies' Tulane and Ladies' Jackson Benevolent Associations and the Donation Society were represented. Having been one of the devout members of St. Mary's Catholic church, the body was taken there, where a requiem choir service was sung."

She died April 14 at 7:45 p.m. at the age of 64 years, 10 months and 17 days.
A native of Boryalva, Rheinpfalz, Germany and resident of New Orleans the previous 44 years.
Families invited to the funeral: her sons Jacob, Joseph and Eugene, and her son-in-law, S. Clissold, also the Albert, Brady, Davis and Ahrens families (as well as many benevolent associations)
