OWEN Joseph L. Ackerman, 82, Owen, died at 3 :30 p.m. Thursday at his home. Memorial services will be I p.m. Monday at the Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. The Rev. Jeff Johnson will officiate. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be 11 a.m. Monday until service time at the funeral home. He was born July 7, 1901 in the Town of Hoard. He married Lillian Burtard Oct 25, 1923. She died March 15, 1964. On Jan. 8, 1972 he married Marjorie Ulrich. He farmed in the Town of Hoard, retiring 11 yean ago, tut continued to live there. Surviving are his wife; three sons, Joseph J. of Curtiss, Orlando of Owen and Floyd of Clinton; three daughters, Mrs. J.T. (Anita) Bucy of Murray, Ky., Mrs. Donald (Dora) Evans of Ridgewood, Wash, and Mrs. Later (Donna) Krueger of Abbotsford; two step-sons, Larry Mittman of Eau Claire and Thomas Mittman of Iowa City, Iowa; two step-daughters, Mrs. Cheryl Beaver of West Liberty, Iowa and Mrs. Steve (Joan) Fischer of Ray, Minn.; 26 grandchildren and. 16 greatgrandchildren. He was also predeceased by a sister, a brother, and three grandchildren.
