Mrs. Recie Brown, 89, Claimed At Home Wednesday
Mrs. Recie Horton Brown, 89, of Grayson , the wife of Peter Brown, died February 5 at her home after an illness of eight months.
Mrs. Brown was born June 30, 1868, at Clifty, a daughter of the late Henry C. and Thursa Blankenbecker Horton . She was a member of the Christian Church.
Funeral services were held Friday at 2 p.m. at the Grayson Christian Church with the Rev. Thomas Thurman officiating. Interment was in the Grayson Memorial Cemetery with arrangments in charge of the Satterly-Phillips Funeral home.
Pallbearers were officers of the Chrisitian church; Gurney Hutchinson, Quentin Johnson, Pete Baker, Jack Strother, Claude Cooke and Donald Damron. Honorary pallbearers were; Dr. J. Watts Stovall, Arthur Gee, Wick Strother, Charles Davis, Dan Stone, Clyde Johnston and C. G. Harris.
Surviving are the husband, ; one son Frank Brown, Grayson; one daughter, Mrs. Catherine Metzger, Grayson; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren ; and two brothers, J. E. Horton and Harry Horton, both of Grayson.

Her father was Henry Cox Horton, her grandfather was Elijah Sergent Horton who married Nancy Cox, her great grandfather was Travis Horton who married Rebecca Lester.
