Jean Karnas

Mrs. George (Jean) Karnas, 89, Ashwaubenon, died Friday, July 9, 2010, at a local nursing home. She was born September 16, 1920 to the late Allan and Stella (Goodenow) Boyden. On November 21, 1953, she married George Karnas at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Green Bay; he preceded her in death on November 23, 2008.

Jean was employed as a stenographer for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad, LaCrosse Lutheran Hospital and Alexander & Alexander Insurance Agency, retiring in 1994. She was a past member of the Association of Office Professionals. She was also a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church and served on various church committees and was a member of the church senior choir.

Survivors include two sons, James (Jean) Hanrahan, Green Bay and David Karnas, North Prairie, Wisconsin; one daughter, Carol (Ray) Neuman, Green Bay; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Elbridge and one sister, Dorothy Gburek.
