Samuel Jamison was born in 1768 in County Cavan, Ireland, his father, John Jamison, was 25 and his mother, Rhoda Barkley Jamison, was 23. He married Martha Barber in 1792 in Ireland. They had two children, Elizabeth and John, during their marriage. Martha died on July 28, 1825, and Samuel remarried. His second wife was Sarah Elizabeth Cope which he married in 1825. He died on November 4, 1855, in West Middletown, Pennsylvania, having lived a long life of 88 years, and was buried there.
