DRAPER-- Allen Ross Ballard, 83, our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home June 10, 2000. He was born May 26, 1917, in Magna, UT, to Henry and Viona Allen Ballard. On August 10, 1940, Allen married Alice Mae Sadler in Draper, UT. Allen was a veteran of World War II and worked for West-ern Steel for many years. With his wife, Alice Mae, he founded the Ballard Ice-berg Drive-In in Draper (1960). An avid golfer, Allen and Alice Mae enjoyed traveling in their motor home with their friends.

Survivors: Wife, Alice Mae; sons, Doug (Janet), George, Don (Debbie); 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Lynn (Shirley).

Preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mandy; parents; brothers, Andy and Ralph. Services will be 12 noon Thurs. June 15, in the Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State, where friends may call Wed. 6-8 p.m. and Thursday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Draper Cemetery. The family expresses special thanks to Karen Cook of Community Nursing Service.
