Mrs. Velma A. Flippin, 77, of 10035 Wilson Road, Independence, died Monday at the home. She was born in Higginsville, Mo., and had lived in this area 56 years. Mrs. Flippin was a machine operator for the Hi-Style Lettering Co. for 10 years before she retired in 1971. She leaves her husband, Herbert Flippin of the home; two sons, Herbert L. Flippin, Millard, Neb., and Charles Flippin, San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Velma Stewart, Sugar Creek, and Mrs. Mary Cook, Parkville; a brother, Marvin Kueck Dunnellon, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Gibson, Warsaw, Mo., and Mrs. Marie Worth, Port Richey, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the Speaks Midtown Chapel; burial in Mount Washington Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel.
