Funeral service for Mrs. C. L. Willis, 57, of 311 East Monroe, who died in a local hospital Monday after a short illness, was Wednesday at 2 p.m. in Chaney's Chapel. Burial was in Oak Hill Cemetery. Rev. Lawrence Johnson, Rev. Clayton Hughes and Rev. B. B. Garrett officiated. Bearers were Ray Turner, Bill Bess, Merle Sexton, Charles Gremlich, Basil Key and Charles Gough. She was a life long McAlester resident. She was born in Russellville, Ark., Jan. 10, 1906. She was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Survivors are C. L. Willis, her husband; her father, R. A. Ashmore of McAlester; a son, Leon Willis of McAlester; three daughters, Alberta Colglazier of McAlester, Mrs. Florence Emerson of Tulsa and Mrs. Merl Folsom of Lawton; three brothers, Doak Ashmore of El Paso, Tex., Orville Ashmore and Edwin Ashmore, both of McAlester, two sisters, Irene Whitaker of McAlester and Bess Barnett of Haywood, and seven grandchildren.
