Mark Hascue Kirkpatrick, 83, of 147 Ben Medford Drive, died Sunday, July 23, 2006, at his residence.
A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late Marion M. and Pearl Noland Kirkpatrick and was also preceded in death by his wife, Alverta Bertie Kirkpatrick, who died in 1998; a sister, Lucy Justice; and four brothers, Frank, Jim, Milas, and Jack Kirkpatrick. He was a salesman for Taylor Motor Company for 10 years and retired in 1986.
He is survived by a daughter, Vivian K. Barton, of Lake Junaluska; three sons, Donald F. Kirkpatrick and wife, Doris, of Charlotte, Larry D. Kirkpatrick and wife, Donna, of Oneida, Tenn., and Jerry M. Kirkpatrick and wife, Becky, of Maggie Valley; one sister, Patricia Boggan, of Charlotte; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, in the Waynesville chapel of Wells Funeral Home with the Rev. G.W. Jameson and the Rev. Carl Presnell officiating. Burial will follow at Fines Creek Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
