Benjamin Rodgers Meek was born just a few days after his mother, Louisa Rodgers Meek Allen (1839-1904), arrived at Salt Lake City, Utah.

During 1866, along with 764 LDS Church members, his parents and Meek Grandparents emigrated from England aboard the ship "John Bright". After arriving at New York they traveled, by train and river boats, to Wyoming, Nebraska. There they became members in the Thomas E. Ricks Wagon Company and departed for Utah about 10 July 1866.

During travel, with the wagon company, his father, Benjamin Enniss Meek, became ill and died 21 July 1866 and was buried along the trail. The wagon company arrived at SLC on 29 August 1866.

The family moved on to Kaysville, Davis Co., Utah where Benjamin was born on 7 September 1866.

His Mother, Louisa, married Andrew Jackson Allen on 12 April 1869. The family lived at Draper, Utah.

13 Apr 1892, Benjamin married Olivia Alfreda Nielsen at Manti, Sanpete Co., Utah.
Olivia Alfreda Neilson is daughter of Peter A Nielsen and sister of Alfred Carl Nielsen who died 1921 and is buried in the Draper cemetery.
Olivia died 1 Aug 1939 and buried at Draper, Utah
