Esther C. "Jo" Siders, 88, of Lone Tree, Iowa, died on November 8, 2008, at Pioneer Park Nursing Home, Lone Tree, Iowa.

Visitation is Tuesday November 11, 2008, from 9 until 11 a.m., at the First United Church of Christ in Tipton, Iowa. Funeral services begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, at the Church, with Rev. David Lorenzen officiating. Organist will be Nancy Hipple. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery, Tipton, Iowa. A general memorial fund has been established in Jo's memory.

Esther was born on November 14, 1919, in Minor Hill, Tennessee, the daughter of Kenneth and Mary Ann (Harwell) Shelton. She attended Minor Hills Schools. She married Earl Harold Siders on December 15, 1945, in Athens, Alabama.

Survivors include her two sons, Howard (Carolyn) Siders, of Tipton, and Larry Siders of Atalissa; a sister, Shirley Dolan of Pulaske, TN; five grandchildren, Randall, Bethany, Kimberly, Ryan and Dawn; and seven great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Earl Siders, on December 30, 1997, two sisters, Ann Fuller and Essie Fulton, and three brothers, Arthur, John and James Shelton.
