FLOYDS KNOBS- Rita A. (Blanc) Banet, 62, passed away on April 30, 2012. She was born on February 26, 1950 Glenwood Springs, CO to the late Osire A. and Ruth E. (Witchey) Blanc.

Rita was a member of St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Church in Floyds Knobs. Rita was a wonderful tribute to being a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Martha Long and Loretta Patch; and stepmother, Mary Blanc.

Rita is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Michael A. Banet; children, Jeffrey Banet (Angie) of Floyds Knobs, Monica Bottorff (Greg) of New Albany, Christopher Banet (Nicole) of Nashville, TN, and Kevin Banet (fiancée, Ting Ting) of Humen, China; sister, Mary Janke of San Diego, CA; grandchildren, Nolan, Luke, Mallory, Abbigail, Reese, and Lincoln; many relatives and friends, including those in Colorado, all of whom will miss her dearly.

Her visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday, May 3, 2012 and 9-10 a.m. Friday . Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday at St. Mary of the Knobs Catholic Chapel (old church) with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Published in The Courier-Journal on May 2, 2012.
