Per his death certificate found on Ancestry.com: he was a son of Hezekiah Dreher and Susanna Langford. He was widowed at the time of his death and the certificate does not name his wife. He was a retired farmer. He died of angina pectoris due to cardio renal disease, nephritis and acute dilitation of the heart. The informant was Miss Bertie Dreher of Columbia, SC.

Found in The State 22 November 1931: Luther Butler Dreher, 82, of 1922 Gadsden street, died while being carried by ambulance from his home to the Columbia hospital at 3:10 yesterday afternoon. Mr. Dreher, born in the Dutch Fork section of Lexington county, was of German descent, his father having been Hezekiah Dreher, a native of Germany, and his mother, Susanna Langford Dreher, of Newberry. He had lived in Columbia for about 30 years and was a retired farmer. Surviving him are two brothers, W. H. Dreher of Prosperity and George Dreher of Amick's Ferry, Lexington county; one sister, Mrs. Martha Dennis of Prosperity; three daughters, Mrs. B. S. Milligan of Columbia, Miss Bertie Dreher and Miss Jessie Dreher, all of Columbia; one son, Yancy B. Dreher of Columbia. He also leaves 12 grandchildren. Funeral services will be held from the Dunbar Funeral home at 4 o'clock this afternoon, conducted by Dr. H. A. McCullough, his pastor, in charge. Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
