Services for Mae Gaiser, 85, of Flint will be held Friday, June 11, 2010, at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Stewart Family Funeral Home with the Rev. Sam DeVille officiating. Burial will follow in Flint Cemetery under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gaiser passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, in Tyler.

She was born March 9, 1925, in Noonday to the late Sam and Emma McKinney. She attended Flint schools and was a graduate of Tyler High School. On Nov. 3, 1941, she married Richard "Red" Gaiser. Mrs. Gaiser was previously employed by East Texas Medical Center and Tyler Independent School District and was a member of Flint Baptist Church. She enjoyed playing Mah-jongg, 42, canning for all the family and camping with Red and their Good Sam friends. She loved spending time with her family and watching her favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. Mae was a wonderful cook - everyone loved her chocolate pies. She and Red cared for many family members and friends and she was always giving of herself. She was a hard worker, plain spoken but a very caring, compassionate lady.

Mrs. Gaiser is survived by a loving family including her husband of 68 years, Richard V. "Red" Gaiser; son, Richard W. Gaiser and wife Edith of Tyler; daughter, Vivian Turman and husband Mike of Noonday; granddaughters, Letha Kay Vanderhei, Shelly Schmidt, and Lori Nardi; and grandsons, Richard Gaiser II and Lee Corley.

Pallbearers will be Richard Gaiser II, Lee Corley, Frank Nardi, Mike Schmidt, Toby Foster and Justin Owen.

Visitation is scheduled for today, June 10, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, in Tyler.
