Jacob M. Hartshorn, 73 of Belleville, died yesterday at 12:30 am in Camden Clark Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born April 4, 1889 at Reedy, a son of the late James S. and Susan Williams Hartshorn. He was a veteran of World War 1 and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Ford Methodist Church.

Formerly employed by the American Viscose Corp., he had spent the better part of his life in the Belleville community. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Sarah Hartshorn, two sons, Glen A. Hartshorn, Akron, Ohio, and GailL. Hartshorn, Parkersburg; a daughter, Mrs. Blondena Sutton, Elizabeth, three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Hartshorn and Mrs. Opal Stephens, both of Parkersburg, and Mrs. Leona Amos, Belleville; two step-brothers, Holly Hall of Rhode Island, and Bud Hall Of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; and three step-sisters, Mrs. Clara Pickerall, Mrs. Virgie Board, and Mrs. Stella Swain, all of Cuyahoga Falls, and sevengrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 3:30 pm at the Leavitt Funeral Home with the Rev. Bates Dent officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
