Mai Garesché Norris did not enter the convent in her youth, but delayed to look after her nephew, Franklin Archibald Dick, whose mother had died when he was only a few months old.
Mai entered the Sisters of the Good Shepherd and made her first vows on 31 AUG 1896 in Philadelphia, PA.
Mai's name in religion was Mother Mary of St Anthony, RGS. She spent most of her religious life in Philadelphia. She wrote the Annals of the Good Shepherd 1850-1925, although it is signed simply as "By a member of the Order."

Note: Mother was originally buried in Lourdesmont Cemetery, Lacakawanna County, PA. The entire Lourdesmont Cemetery was relocated to Saint Catherine's Cemetery in August of 2019.
