Johann Heinrich Yoxtheimer was born on month day 1758, Rockland township, Pennsylvania, to Johann Philip Yaxthemer and Elizabetha Catharina Yaxthemer (born Adam). Johann was born on December 5 1721, in Erbach an der Donau, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. Elizabetha was born circa 1731, in Erbach an der Donau, Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany. Johann had 6 siblings: Philip Yoxtheimer, George Yoxtheimer and 4 other siblings. Johann married Maria Catherine Yoxtheimer (born Cronrath) in 1780, at age 21, Berks county. Maria was born circa 1759. They had 9 children: Margaretha Zimmerman (born Yoxtheimer), Anna Maria Sampsell (born Yoxtheimer) and 7 other children. Johann passed away in 1840, at age 81 at death place, Pennsylvania.

Nov, 20, 1832 - Henry Yoxheimer aged 74, That he enlisted in the army of the United States in 1778 in the Company commanded by Captain Kornderfer in Colebrookdale Township, Berks County in brigade commanded by Gen, Morgan for a term of six months. After enlistment marched to White Plains, above N,Y. where brigade was broken up. General Washington at this time moved the army to near New York and the brigade under Gen, Millberger and to which he was then attached went to Fort West Point, Remained there until went into winter quarters and afterwards went to Brunswick, New Jersey remaining there a short time. 300 horses were put in charge of deponent and four others to take to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Proceeded with horses through Bucks County, thence to Valley Forge, to Conestoga near Lancaster. Delivered horses to a I'lr, iinith of Lancaster County, secured discharge and went home. Previous to entering Army of the United States, was an enlisted soldier, viz September 1775 marched from Berks County in Company commanded by Captain Jesiah Davis to Germantown near Philadelphia. Joseph Hiester was his Colonel, engaged the principal part of time scouting. Deponent at one time was standing sentry. Colonel Hiester rode out till he came in sight of English picket Guard, who as soon as they saw him pursued him yelling, "stop your damned rebels", until they were arrested by a platoon he had stationed behind him. Remained two months, received discharge, returned home, soon after his return, his brother Philip was drafted and deponent took his place as substitute in Company commanded by Captain Straub, Colonel Jacob Weaver, went to near Philadelphia engaged in Scouting, remained two months, returned to Berks County. In August 1777 went out in Militia Company commanded by Captain Keffer, as substitute for Matthias Reider, Joseph Hiester Co, Marched from Reading, through Bucks to Trenton. Remained two months. Discharged, Col. Wayne Commanded. English then in New York.
After marriage in 1780, drafted marched from Berks County in Company commanded by Captain Abraham Keffer to Sunbury, North County. Thence to where Derrtown is now located. Remained two months. The Indians were committing great ravages. Sent to protect farmers while putting in their winter grain. Returned to Reading, Received discharge from Gen. Morgan.
