James [sic Jackson] Nathaniel Schilling, respected member of one of Pike County's oldest and most outstanding families, passed in death at 8:16 Wednesday morning among his relatives and friends.

Death came to the 82-year-old retired merchant and farmer at the home of his son, Harry Schilling, on Highway 51, south of McComb. He had been in failing health for a lengthy period.

Funeral services were scheduled to be held at three o'clock Thursday afternoon from the residence. Rev. Fred B. Bookter, pastor of Central Baptist Church, will be officiating minister.

Mr. Schilling leaves his wife, Mrs. Alice McDaniel Schilling; three sons, W. H., Walter B. and J. N. Schilling, all of McComb; a daughter, Mrs. B. L. Nunnery, McComb; a brother, N. F. Schilling, Bogalusa, La.; a sister, Mrs. D. J. Rhymes, Picayune; a half-brother, Billy Smith, Biloxi, and a number of grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Interment will be in Hollywood Cemetery with Catchings Funeral Home in charge of services.
