Death certificate for Tunis M. Preston. It shows no father, and his mother as a "Henson". As there are many, many errors on these death certificates, it's more likely that they meant for his father's name to be Heston Preston, which would make sense, as Heston Preston married Nancy Linville on May 21, 1845. Heston and Nancy are shown in the 1850 census as living with her parents, George and Elizabeth Linville in what was Stokes Co. at the time.Unfortunately Tunis doesn't show up in the 1860 or 1870 census records at all. So, it's not possible to prove who his parents were from them, though he had to belong to somebody.1880 census shows Tunis--22, as as living with his mother, who is listed as "Hinston" E. Preston--44.
