Bob "Bobby" Dale Back, 55, of Joplin, Mo., died at 3:37 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2004, at St. John's Regional Medical Center in Joplin.
He was born March 23, 1948, at Columbus to Dale and Maedeen Elliot Back.
He graduated from Cherokee County Rural High School in 1966 and Pittsburg State University in 1974. He was a certified mental health technician and a certified emergency medical technician.
He was a case manager for the severely chronically mentally ill at Grand Lake Mental Health, Ozark Center, and Suncoast. He most recently worked as a truck driver for J. Evans Trucking.
He married Susan Kirby in 1974 at Pittsburg. They divorced but remained lifelong friends.
Survivors include his parents of Columbus; two brothers, Gregg Back of Oswego and Stephen E. Back of Pittsburg; one sister, Cathy Craig of Frontenac; and several nieces and nephews.
The body has been cremated.
