Oliver Norris Arterburn, age 83 of Council Bluffs, passed away May 1, 2012 at VA Medical Center in Omaha.

Oliver was born September 28, 1928 in Malvern, IA, the son of Ollie and Avis (Hubbell) Arterburn. He worked as a carman for the Union Pacific Railroad .

Oliver is preceded in death by his wife Dorothy and his brother Robert Arterburn.
He is survived by his children; James Arterburn, of Clarinda, Timothy Arterburn, Jane Grooms and husband Charles, all of Council Bluffs, Jean Zimmerman and husband Brad, of Bellevue, and Judy Slechta, of Council Bluffs; sixteen grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; sisters Eyvonne Ehrsham and husband Bud, Lorraine Peters and husband Richard; brother Therald Arterburn and wife Nancy; and sister-in-law Patty Arterburn.

Memorials are suggested to the family.

Visitation:
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Maher-Livingston Funeral Home.

Service:
Funeral services will be Friday at 11:00 a.m. at Maher-Livingston Funeral Home.
