A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 10 a.m. at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
Richard Eugene was born May 3, 1938 to Milton and Uva (Barker) Haman in Freeport, IL. He graduated from Oakland Technical High School in Oakland, CA. Richard served for the United States Air Force in the Philippines and Guam as military air police. On June 4, 1961, he was united in marriage to Sharon Marquardt at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Mapleton. They were blessed with two sons. Richard and his family lived in California where he worked at Hertz before moving to Mankato in 1968. He was a route driver for Wonder Bread until becoming the Depot Manager. After retiring from Wonder Bread, Richard delivered catering for Hy-Vee. He enjoyed active conversations, the lake house near Park Rapids, fishing, sitting outside listening to music, and watching Vikings football games. Richard especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife, Sharon; two sons: Rick (Lisa) Haman and Mark (Lori) Haman; four grandchildren: Trevor, Sarah, Josie, and Jenna; and one brother: Larry (Esther) Haman of Redding, CA.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Norman.
