Wilbur K. Hershey, 77, of Bethel, died Friday, April 27, 2012 at his residence.

He was the husband of Arlene (Nolt) Hershey to whom he was married 54 years on November 2.

Born in Lancaster, PA on June 28, 1934, he was the son of the late Frank and Kathryn (Kreider) Hershey.

He was a self-employed dairy farmer in Bethel for over 50 years. A member of Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, Bethel, he was a former member of the Tulpehocken Young Farmers, the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and enjoyed boating and snowmobiling.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Renee Hershey of Bethel, Julie wife of Stanley Risser of Lebanon; sons, Richard husband of Bonnie Hershey of Fredericksburg, W. Ray husband of Jenifer Hershey of Bethel; sisters, Jeanette Martin of New Holland, Jane wife of Leslie Mininger of Lancaster, Irene Hershey of Lancaster, brothers, Glenn husband of Audrey Hershey of Lancaster, Marvin Hershey of Lancaster; grandchildren, Derrick Hershey, Trisha Oxenreider, Craig Hershey, Curtis Hershey, Evan Hershey, Daniel Risser, David Risser, Sarah Risser, and James Risser; great-grandchildren, Collin and Jordan Hershey and Avery Oxenreider.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at 11 a.m. from Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, 31 Rehrersburg Rd., Bethel. A viewing will be held Tuesday, May 1, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Grose Funeral Home, 358 W. Washington Ave., Myerstown, and Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the church. The funeral of Wilbur K. Hershey of Bethel was held Wednesday, May 2, 2012, from Little Swatara Church of the Brethren, Bethel. He was the husband of Arlene N. Nolt Hershey. The Rev. Robert Krouse, pastor of the church, officiated. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery. Pallbearers were Craig Hershey, Derrick Hershey, Les Mininger, Chad Oxenreider and Stanley Risser. Gross Funeral Home, Myerstown, handled the arrangements.
