She passed away before she reached adulthood when her clothes caught fire from the heating stove while she was kindling the fire.

CHILD BURNED TO DEATH AS CLOTHING CAUGHT FIRE
MIAMI, Okla., Feb. 16, 1926—Velma Little, ten-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Little of Quapaw, died this afternoon at a local hospital from burns suffered early this morning when her dress caught fire while she was kindling a fire at her home.

Quapaw, Okla., Feb. 18,—Funeral services for Velma Marie Little, 10 years old, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. W. Little of Quapaw, who was fatally burned Tuesday, were held at the Methodist church this afternoon. Burial was in the Miami cemetery.

QUAPAW, Feb. 16.— (Special)— Velma Little, 10-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Little of Quapaw, died at 1 o'clock this afternoon at Miami Baptist hospital from burns received early this morning when her dress caught fire while she was kindling a fire at her home. The little girl was rushed to the hospital, where she died a few hours afterwards.

QUAPAW, Feb. 17,— The funeral of Velma Marie Little, 10-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Little, of Quapaw, who died yesterday from burns received when her clothing caught on fire from a gas heater, will be held from the Methodist church at Quapaw at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon. Burial will be in the Miami cemetery by the Todd Undertaking company.
