ROCHESTER -- The funeral Mass for John D. Clark will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Macken Funeral Home in Rochester, with the Rev. Marreddy Pothireddy officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Mr. Clark, 81, a longtime resident of Rochester, died Monday (June 5, 2006) at Rochester Health ; Rehabilitation East, of complications from pneumonia.
Born Jan. 17, 1925, in Platteville, Wis., he was reared in La Crosse, Wis., and later moved to Rochester. He graduated from Rochester High School and served in the Army during WW II. Following his return, he worked at the Zumbro Hotel and later the Kahler Hotel as a desk clerk. He then moved to Minneapolis and worked at the Lowery Hotel. In 1956, he moved to Rochester and worked for IBM, retiring in 1982. On July 6, 1957, he married Doris Lenz at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Rochester. His wife is a homemaker. He enjoyed golf and, in his younger years, softball.
Survivors include his wife. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Friends may call from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, and an hour before the service on Thursday.
Memorials are preferred to the family.
