Mrs Jennie Berg, 82, a longtime Wausau resident died on Thursday February 22, 1979 at 4:25 PM at the Wisconsin Veteran's Home in King where she has resided.
She was born on December 17, 1896 in Knowlton the daughter of Mr and Mrs Arthur Altenburg. On May 14, 1919 she was married to Elmer Berg in Steven's Point. He died on August 31, 1978.
Survivors include two sons, Stuart of Wausau and Donald of River Falls; two brothers James Altenburg of Mosinee and Forrest Altenburg of Bensonville, IL; two sisters Mrs Lee Gardner and Mrs Ray Gardner both of Wausau along with five grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Monday February 26, 1979 at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church in Wausau. The Rev. Gilbert Meyer officiated and burial was in the Mosinee Cemetery. A visitation was held on Sunday evening at the Beste Funeral Home in Mosinee.
