Nels O. Stabo, a long time resident of Cass Lake, passed away Sunday morning after an illness of year. Born in Norway, a son of Ole and Karen Stabo, he came to the USA at the age of two years and grew up in North Dakota. He was united in marriage to Petra Moe, member of a pioneer family in 1906, and had lived in Cass Lake since 1913. He was employed for over thirty years by the W. H. Kalbfleisch store, and since then, and until he retired, by the Lyric Hotel and later by the Endion. A son Norval passed away in 1936. His first wife Petra passed away in 1947. In 1951, he was united in marriage to Freda Train. (Cass Lake Times Mar 7, 1968)
