John N McClure, aged veteran of the Civil War, died at his home in this city Tuesday morning from the flu.
Born July 12, 1840 in Fayette County, Indiana and afterward moved to Wabash, Indiana where he enlisted in service December 28, 1863, Co A 89 Ind Vol Inf, and was transferred at Mobile, Alabama July 1, 1865 to Co E 26th Ind Inf Vol. He mustered out January 15, 1866 at Indianapolis, Indiana.
He was a member of James Mathews Post, No. 6, GAR.
Mr. McClure leaves a wife and one daughter; a son who enlisted in the Nave some years ago has never been heard from.
Funeral was Friday at the undertaking parlor, Rev. Ebert officiated.
