Mrs. Amanda Vaught, 88, 325 W 10th St, widow of John B. Vaught, died at 2:30 a.m. today at the Goble Nursing Home following an illness of three months.
Mrs. Vaught was born June 3, 1878 in Burnt Prairie, White County, Ill., and moved here in 1929. Her husband died in 1937.
She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church at Mt. Pleasant, IL.
Surviving are a son, Orville Vaught of Anderson; five daughters, Mrs. Ray (Veda) Funkhouser, Mrs. Laura Lovell and Mr. William (Versa) Benefiel all of Anderson, Mrs. Ellen Walker of Columbia, S.C., and Mrs. Malcolm (Ethel) Tucker of Seal Beach, Calif.; one brother Casey Stone of Fairfield, Ill.; and eight grandchildren.
