Mrs. Henry (Tillie) Betow, 82, died Thursday, April 21, 1966 at the Belgrade Nursing Home. She was born in Burnhamville Township, Todd County, Minnesota, September 25, 1883 of August Buchholz and Wilhelmine Ebert. She was baptized on October 21, 1883 and confirmed on April 3, 1898. She married Henry Betow in Long Prairie on April 5, 1910. Surviving are five children, three sons and two daughters, Mrs. Martin (Elsie) Fritzlar, Belgrade; Alvin W. Betow, Sauk Centre; Leonard Betow, New Prague; Arthur Betow, Sauk Centre and Mrs. Anthony (Ella) Petermeier, Melrose, MN. Three children died in infancy. There are eight grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Albert Bucholz, Grey Eagle; and three sisters, Mrs. William (Elsie) Kummer, Sauk Centre; Mrs. William (Minnie) Betow, Sauk Centre and Mrs. Emma Rosty, St. Paul. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nov. 15, 1949 and two brothers, John and Charles, and three sisters, Bertha, Martha and Elizabeth. Funeral services were held Monday, April 25, 1966 at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. George Eschenbacher officiating. Burial was at the Unity cemetery. Organist was Mrs. William Holland and vocalist was Mrs. Harvey Lange, who sang "I Am But A Stranger Here, Heaven Is My Home" and "I Know That My Redemeer Lives". Pallbearers were Robert Betow, Willard Betow, Albert Heideman, John Kummer, William Bucholz and VictorBucholz, all nephews of Mrs. Betow. Relatives and friends from out of town were from St. Paul, New Prague, Sleepy Eye, St. Cloud, Winnebago, Eagle Bend, Browerville, Grey Eagle, and Long Prairie.
