Mrs. Nellie A. Carpenter, 89 Mason avenue died Tuesday morning at Hackley hospital, after a two weeks' illness, age 86 years. Mrs. Carpenter was born in Watertown, Jefferson Co., New York. When 18 years of age Mrs. Carpenter came to Michigan, settling in Reed City (Osceola Co.) Michigan where she lived until 40 years ago, when she came to Muskegon, where she has since made her home. She was a member of Central M.E. church. She leaves three daughters and two sons, Mrs. Henry Law of Chicago, Mrs. Andrew J. Siney of Muskegon Heights, and Mrs. D. H. Petty of Muskegon, and Andrew B. Carpenter of Gould City, Mich., and Arthur H. Carpenter of Seattle, Washington; and six grandchildren. Funeral announcement will be given later.

The funeral service of Mrs. Nellie A. Carpenter, 89 Mason Avenue will be held at 2:00 o'clock Thursday afternoon in the chapel at Balbirnie mortuary, Rev. J. P. Durham, pastor of Methodist Episcopal church of North Muskegon, officiating. Burial will be in Oak Wood Cemetery.
