Funeral services for Gary Wayne Black, 74, of Spearsville will be 10:00am Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at Farrar Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Canterberry and Bro. Richard Methvin officiating. Burial will follow in Laran Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Farrar Funeral Home.
Mr. Black, a mechanic and logger, died March 31, 2012. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church, and an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a loving husband and father and a super Papaw. He dearly loved his grandkids and great grandkids.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Grady & Bertha Lee Black.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Floye C. Black; 2 sons: Steve Black & wife, Kelli and A.W. Cascio all of Spearsville; 1 daughter, Frances Black; 1 brother: Rex Black & wife, Brenda all of Spearsville; 5 grandchildren: Alex Medina & wife. Marcie; Amanda Hudson & husband, Jesse; Krystle Cascio; Tiffany Simpson & husband, Blake; and Colt Alford; 6 great grandchildren: Dominick, Aaron, Layla, Madisyn, Mckenley and Kloe; and his uncle Coot Black of Sterlington.
Pallbearers are Tim Alford, Kenneth Auger, Bob Hanry, Max Nale, Steve Mitcham, John Holloway and Bubba Wade. Honorary pallbearers are Jack Boggs, Ronnie Holloway, Juan Na Byrnside, James Pridgen, Don Auger and Wayne Calloway.
