Glennis E. Vaughn, 88, of Galion, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010 at Magnolia Terrace where he has resided the last three years.

Born May 28, 1922 in Corbin, Ky., he was the son of the late William P. and Bertha (Hill) Vaughn. He was preceded in death on Dec. 14, 2001 by his wife, Sarah (Lewis) Vaughn, whom he married July 31, 1948.

Glennis graduated from high school in Kentucky and enlisted in the U. S. Navy serving in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. He worked in the automotive industry retiring from General Motors Mansfield-Ontario Stamping Plant where he worked in tool and die. He liked going to auctions and garage sales, always looking for a bargain. He and his wife owned and operated The Swap Shop and Red Barn Antiques and Used Furniture in Uptowne Galion. He was a long time and faithful member of Galion First Church of the Nazarene. He quietly lived his life, was dedicated to his family and will be remembered for his practical jokes.

Glennis is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Bertha and Edwin Maglott of Galion; two daughters-in-law, Kathy Vaughn of Galion and Chong Vaughn of Tampa, Fla.; several grandchildren including, Brian (Kae Williams) Maglott, Scott (Billie) Maglott, Jeremy (Marcy) Maglott, Aaron (Tara) Maglott, William (Trish) Vaughn and Daniel (Kathy) Vaughn; many great-grandchildren and one sister and brother-in-law, Gladys and Leland Smith of Oregon.

He was preceded in death by three sons, Glennis "Sonny," Michael and William Vaughn; one daughter, Shirley Marlow and one brother, Shirley Vaughn.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010 at Richardson-Davis Funeral Home where services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, with Dr. Rick McCartney officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Memorial Park.

Military graveside services will be conducted by the U. S. Navy and the Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
