Mary was the youngest of seven children born to Benjamin Alden and Polly Hood.
In 1858 Mary married Augustus Ramsdell, and settled on the Ramsdell farmstead. They had a daughter who died in infancy, and a son B. Roswell, who later took over the family farm, which was to the south of this cemetery.
The Augusta Ramsdell house, built about 1860, was still standing until the last few decades. It was last inhabited by her great-grandson Sherm Mitchell.
