She was born July 11, 1934 in Eaton, CO. Ruby and husband Don, married 49 years, were retired and living in Evans.
Ruby worked 15 years at North Colorado Medical Center in the Housekeeping department. When she and Don retired, they spent several winters as "snowbirds" in Arizona. They also had a special fondness for the Red Feather Lakes area of Colorado and spent many summers enjoying the mountains with family and friends. Ruby was always quick with a smile and genuinely cared for those she had just met. She was very generous with her time and energy and would lend a hand to everyone around her. She loved to read, watch the sunrise, take her daily walks, and spend time with her family, especially grandson, Alex.
She is survived by her husband, Don of Evans; daughter, Kerrie Steinbach and husband, Michael, and grandson, Alex, of Wiggins. Ruby is also survived by her sister, Florence Johnson of Eaton, brother, Rudy Schlotthauer and wife, Judy of Eaton, and Ronnie Schlotthauer, also of Eaton. There are many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends that are going to miss Ruby. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rudolph and Pauline Schlotthauer.
Celebration for Ruby and sharing of fond memories will be held at 8:00 a.m., Saturday, April 28th, at the Moser Funeral Service Chapel, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, in Evans.
Memorial gifts may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care of Northern Colorado, in care of Moser Funeral Service, 3501 S. 11th Avenue, Evans, CO 80620.
