Richard Cole was born to John Cole and Mary Ann Voss (Cordon). Some of the LDS church records show his birth and death 2 years later than recorded here. However, those records were copied numerous times and the surviving copies were created post-1932. The earlier date of 1874-1875 was gleaned from a 1942 transcription of cemetery headstones. That document is on file in the Brigham City Family History Center. Also, a microfilm copy of the Sextons Burial records which is in the Salt Lake City Family History Library has the same dates as the Headstone transcriptions.

Apparently there was a headstone (if the transcription was made from existing headstones). That headstone fell into disrepair sometime in the 1990s and was disposed of.

A replacement headstone was set in May of 2013.
