Thomas J. Noveske, 66, of Grants Pass died Tuesday, July 14, 1992, at his home.

Memorial Mass will be at noon Friday at St. Anne Catholic Church, with the Rev. Karl Schray officiating. Slawson's Chapel of the Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Nov. 21, 1925, in Grafton, Ohio. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy as a second-class electronic technician's mate. As an electronic engineer he worked in design and development of high-tech test equipment. Some of his electronics work was on board the first flight NASA made.

On May 14, 1949, in Avon, Ohio, he married the former Doris Forthofer, who survives. They lived in Seven Hills, Ohio, and moved to Fresno, Calif., in 1968 and to Grants Pass in 1980.
He was a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, the Grants Pass Elks and Eagles Lodge and the Moose Lodge in Medford. He enjoyed dancing and fishing and electronics. He was in the process of building a pipe organ in his home.

In addition to his wife, survivors include two sons, Thomas Noveske of Roseville, Calif., and John Noveske of Fresno; two daughters, Susan Morris of Mason City, Iowa, and Nancy White of Dubuque, Iowa; his twin brother, Joseph Noveske of Canton, Ohio; a sister, Marian Smitek of Avon; and seven grandchildren
