Doris Lucille Noveske, 84, of Grants Pass died Saturday, June 4, 2011, at Royale Gardens Health and Rehabilitation Center.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Saturday (June 18th), at St. Anne Catholic Church, with Fr. Dominic Tumusiime officiating. Private internment will be at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.chapel-valley.com.

One of six children, she was born in Avon, Ohio, January 4, 1927 to Anthony and Mary Forthofer. She was raised on the family farm, attended grade school at Holy Trinity School and graduated from Avon High School in 1945. On May 14, 1949 in Avon, she married Thomas Joseph Noveske, who died July 14, 1992. They lived in Seven Hills, Ohio, moved to Fresno, California in 1968 and came to Grants Pass in 1980. She was a homemaker.

Doris was a member of The Early Settlers of Avon, Ohio. She was also a member of St. Anne Catholic Church, where she was active as a Eucharistic minister, a visitor to the sick and sacristan. She was also a member of the church's Over 55 Club and the Altar Society. She enjoyed flower gardening.

Survivors include two daughters, Susan Morris of Seattle and Nancy White of Santa Monica, Calif.; two sons, Thomas and John Noveske, both of Grants Pass; one sister, Irene Tapper of Ohio; one brother, Robert Forthofer of Ohio; 7 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
