Towanda, Kan. — Charles W. Luce, 82, of rural Towanda, died Wednesday, Feb. 22 at his home. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Douglass Cemetery.

He was born on April 1, 1929 in Atlanta, Kan., the son of Charles and Olive E. (Brannon) Luce. He served in the Army during the Korean War. Charles was a mechanic and worked in the Public Works Department for the City of Augusta for 18 years. He retired in 1994. He was a member of the American Legion; Good Sam Club and enjoyed working in his shop making crafts.

He was married to Betty Beckman on Feb. 14, 1986 in El Dorado.

Those who survive including his wife Betty are: daughters, Twila Keen of Missouri, Ja Carson of El Dorado and Jo Owens of Altoona, Kan.; sons, Mark Gray and Mike Gray, both of Wyoming, and Mitch Gray of Arizona; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dorothy; a sister, Ethel Stewart; and a grandson, Mitch Gray, Jr.
