Harley was the son of Hughie and Mae McCarty Ellison. He was 85 years old at the time of his passing at Sparks Regional Medical Center, Fort Smith, Arkansas. He was a resident of Alma, Arkansas, and was a former resident of LaSalle, Monroe County, Mi.
He was the husband of Ruby Rushing, and they were married on June 16, 1979, in Monroe, Mi.
Harley worked as a millwright for the Detroit Stoker Company in Monroe for 35 years, and owned/operated Ellison's Restaurant in Monroe for many years.
He was survived by his wife; a son Don (Bonnie); three daughters, Brenda (Richard) Burns, Diane (Danny) Brasher, and Sharon Raymer; a stepson, Michael Durham; a stepdaughter, Mary Helen Brown; a brother, Coolidge; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in passing by a stepdaughter, LaVerne Ewing, two brothers,Hance and Benny, and a sister, Minnie Leach.


Harley was laid to rest at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle, Mi.
