BATTLE CREEK - Services for Clea P. Roewert, 92, of Battle Creek will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. John Lutheran Church here with visitation at the church 4-7 p.m. Thursday. Home for Funerals is in charge.
He died Tuesday, June 7, 2011, at Community Pride Care Center.

Clea was born Feb. 10, 1919, to Paul and Ruby (Bunker) Roewert in Tilden. He was baptized Feb. 23, 1919, and confirmed May 28, 1933, at Tilden. He graduated from Tilden High School May 28, 1937.
Clea married Odetta Bredehoft on July 6, 1941, at Battle Creek. He entered the Army in 1942 and served in Africa, Sicily and Italy. He was discharged in 1945. Clea farmed his whole life in the Battle Creek area. He was very active for 30 years in the Legion, midgets and town team baseball as a manager and coached the Clea'ts softball team.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 75 of Battle Creek and VFW Post 1644 of Norfolk.
Clea is survived by his wife, Odetta; daughter Cleone Warden of Plainview; son Dennis and his wife, LaDonna Roewert of Battle Creek; three grandchildren, Jennifer and her husband, John Efta of Norfolk, Tonja and her husband, Dennis Hofmann of Battle Creek, Cody Roewert of Norfolk; two great-grandchildren, Christopher and Nickolas Efta of Norfolk.
Clea was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Stanley.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St John Lutheran Church, Battle Creek.
