Levisa Woods Fisher was the only daughter of Emery Duncan Sr. and Elvira May Adkins Fisher born in Big Cane, Louisiana on 21 Mar 1897.
She had five brothers, Ewell, Dunk Jr., Mansfield, Reuben, Ralph and Bryan "Bud" Fisher. So, no wonder, she grew up to be a fiesty young lady.
She married her sweetheart, George Carmouche, in Alexandria, Louisiana on 13 Sept 1922.
Levisa died 16 August 1933 in Opelousas, St. Landry Parish, Louisiana at St. Rita's Infirmary four hours after giving birth to she and George's only child. Levisa Rita was lovingly born to this marriage on 16 August 1933 with the help of midwife, Delphenne Green.
