Carlton G. "Joe" Fennel, 81, of Jesup, GA, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, after an extended illness. The Wayne Co., GA, native was a member of the Flint Branch Baptist Church, he was also a contractor and horse trainer. He was predeceased by siblings: Herman Fennel, Theron Fennel, Monteen Teston, Ovaleen Harrell, and Eunice Kelly; and his parents, Zeke and Ella Fennel.
Survivors are his wife of 63 years: Margaret Woodcock Fennel of Jesup, GA, daughter: Linda (Jesse) Stepp of Brunswick, GA, 2 sons: Lonnie (Paula) Fennel of Mobile, AL, Larry Fennel of Jesup, GA, sisters: Ruby (Jarrell) Coffee, Hilda (Chuck) Van Meter, both of Jesup, GA, Vonnie (Ray) Taylor of Savannah, GA, brothers: Delmer (Helen) Fennel of Brunswick, GA, Gary (Etwendell) Fennel of Jesup, GA, 8 grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 A. M. Thursday, April 26, 2012, from the Flint Branch Baptist Church with Brother Albert Dyal and Pastor Scott Hickox officiating. Interment will be in the Flint Branch Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be: Family and Friends.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 A. M. Thursday from the church prior to services.
