He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and proudly served in Vietnam with the 101st Airborne Artillery Support Unit.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Mattie Belle Kirk, and a brother, John Kirk.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Pauline Extine Kirk; daughters, Cassie Kirk, Jackie Kirk, and Ashleigh Kirk; grandchildren, Jerek, Jaden, and Josalyn Breeden; sister, Mary Green and husband Alvin; and sister-in-law, Bashie Kirk.
Funeral service 2 PM Friday at Atchley Funeral Home, Seymour. Interment 1:30 PM Monday in Tennessee Veterans Cemetery (John Sevier) with Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 104.
